You really won't notice a dif between 50-60, but 40-50 would be a bit more noticeable, especially if it dips at times. This game also has a fps cap built in so I would set it to 50fps and then tweak the settings so they look the best and run smooth with no dips at 50. It is basically another way to greatly decrease the aliasing. Try tweaking it and then try the render setting to 1.5 and see how it looks.
cranking the resolution is mostly the gpu so you could move the render scale setting up after you turn some of the other settings down and it will look amazing. It's going to be the cpu heavy settings that are holding you back, so turn those down and keep the gpu intensive ones cranked up. You could probably run a mix of ultra - high and get 60fps. you can typically gain 20+ fps with a few minor tweaks that can not realistically be seen while playing. ultra presets are kind of dumb in most games. It's pretty much not possible unless you pause the game and look closely. It all depends on you, some people think they can see the difference between very high and ultra when playing.
